Teaching since Tuscarora's opening in 2010, Mr. Daniel is proud to be among its charter staff. He has taught Drama/Vocal instruction since 2003 and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with Tuscarora’s finest, especially those who are Broadway bound. He previously worked at both Belmont Ridge and J.L. Simpson Middle Schools as the drama sponsor and founded the Northern Virginia Preparatory Theatre Company, a select group of auditioned secondary students who were preparing for professional careers in the Theatre Arts. Over his career he has directed over sixty shows including: Into the Woods, Seussical, Once on this Island, Sound of Music, Bye Bye Birdie, Children of Eden, High School Musical, Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol, A Raisin in the Sun, Steel Magnolias, 12 Angry Men and Annie. Under his guidance, Tuscarora Theatre has earned numerous awards including 14 Cappies Awards, Superior rankings at sectional and regional events and 7th place in the Odyssey of the Mind WORLD competition. In 2020, Mr. Daniel received the Theatre Educator of the Year award from Virginia Thespians and in 2021 he was recognized as a Master Theatre Educator by the VA Theatre Association. He currently serves as a founder and Chair of the local Blue Ridge Cappies and the College Chair of Virginia Thespians. Mr. Daniel obtained his B.F.A. Music Theatre degree from Shenandoah University (Winchester, Virginia) and received his MA in Theatre Education at the Catholic University of America in 2020. Mr. Daniel is currently working on his Administrative licensure through Shenandoah University.
